Topics
A Topic is the primary way to organise your library. Think of it as a subject area or project where everything you capture around that theme lives.
What a Topic contains
Each Topic is a self-contained workspace that holds three types of content:
- Decks - groups of notes for focused study sessions. Notes always live inside a Deck; a Topic can have as many Decks as you like.
- Pages - rich-text documents for long-form writing, outlines, or reference material related to the Topic.
- Documents - uploaded or linked source materials that provide context for the notes you capture.
Creating a Topic
Open the sidebar and click the new folder button. Give the Topic a name that reflects the subject - for example, Spanish, Machine Learning, or Project Alpha. The Topic appears in your library immediately and is ready to receive content.
Navigating inside a Topic
Clicking a Topic in the sidebar opens its workspace. The view is split into tabs. Switch between Decks, Notes, Pages, and Documents to see each type of content. The breadcrumb in the top bar always shows which Topic you are in.
Tips
- Keep Topics broad, one per subject or project. Use Decks inside a Topic to add finer-grained structure.
- Notes can only belong to one Deck at a time. If a note is relevant to multiple subjects, use Tags to cross-reference it.
- Pages inside a Topic are great for summarising key concepts before a review session.
