AI Companion
The AI Companion is a chat interface that understands your notes. Ask it to explain a concept, quiz you on a topic, or help you fill gaps in your knowledge.
Starting a conversation
Open the AI Companion from the sidebar. Type your question in the chat input and press Enter to send. Each conversation starts a new thread, and your threads are saved so you can come back to them later.
The Companion can also be opened from a note, which automatically adds that note as context for your first message.
Adding notes as context
Type @ in the chat input to search your library and attach specific notes, pages, or topics to your message. The Companion uses the attached content to give you more focused, relevant answers.
For example, type @Vocabulary to attach your Vocabulary notes, then ask "Can you quiz me on these?" to get a quiz based on exactly that material.
What you can ask
- Explain a concept - ask the Companion to break down something you're struggling with, using your own notes as a starting point.
- Quiz me - the Companion generates multiple-choice questions from your notes and gives you instant feedback on each answer.
- Find connections - ask how two topics relate, or what you might be missing between concepts you've captured.
- Summarise or expand - ask for a summary of a topic, or ask it to go deeper on a specific point in your notes.
Saving note drafts
When the Companion generates content worth keeping, it may offer a note draft inline in the conversation. You can edit the title and content directly in the draft card, then click Save to add it to your library. Click Dismiss to discard it.
Saved drafts enter your spaced repetition schedule automatically, just like any other note.
Reviewing proposed changes
When you ask the Companion to make changes to your library - such as creating, updating, or deleting notes - it will show you a summary of what it plans to do before taking any action. You stay in control at every step.
- Apply - confirms the change and the Companion carries it out.
- Dismiss - cancels the change. Nothing in your library is modified.
Tips
- Be specific. "Explain photosynthesis using @Biology notes" gives better results than a broad question with no context.
- After a quiz, rate any notes you struggled with as Hard in your revision session so they come back sooner.
- Use the Companion to turn a long explanation into a concise note draft, then save it directly to your library.
- Your conversation history is saved. You can return to a previous thread to pick up where you left off.
