Revision

Every note you save enters a spaced repetition schedule. Memory Lab brings it back for review at increasing intervals, so you spend time on what you're about to forget, not what you already know.

How a session works

  1. Start screen - shows how many notes are due. Optionally filter to a specific Deck, then click Start Revision Session.
  2. Review card - read the note and try to recall the idea before looking at the rating buttons.
  3. Rate difficulty - choose Easy or Hard based on how well you recalled.
  4. Repeat - the next due note appears automatically until the session is complete.

Rating difficulty

Your rating after each card adjusts when that note comes back:

  • Easy - you recalled it confidently. The note will come back less often.
  • Hard - you struggled or forgot. The note will come back sooner for extra practice.

Over time, consistently rating a note Easy moves it into long-term memory with review intervals of weeks or months. This compounding is what makes spaced repetition efficient.

Deck filter

On the start screen, select one or more Decks to limit the session to notes from those Decks. Useful when you want to focus on a specific subject before an exam or study block, rather than reviewing everything that happens to be due.

Tips

  • Rate honestly. The system only works if your ratings reflect how well you actually remembered, not how well you wanted to.
  • Short daily sessions beat long infrequent ones. Memory Lab surfaces notes at the right moment, and reviewing late can reset your progress.
  • Notes you rate Hard repeatedly will keep coming back until they stick. Don't skip them.
  • Use the AI Companion during a session to go deeper on a note you're struggling with, then rate it Hard so it returns soon.
