Flashcards

A flashcard splits a note into a question side and an answer side, so revision sessions test whether you can recall the answer before showing it to you.

Front, back, and hint

The front holds the question or prompt; the back holds the answer, revealed with a flip when you click Reveal Answer. An optional hint can be shown without flipping the card, useful for a partial nudge before you give up and reveal the full answer.

When to use a flashcard

Flashcards work best for self-contained question-and-answer pairs: a definition, a translation, a fact. Like any other note, flashcards are scheduled by the same spaced repetition system - rate Easy or Hard after revealing the answer to control when the card comes back.
