Progress Chart

The semi-circle chart on your dashboard gives you a live snapshot of where your notes sit in your memory. It divides all your notes into five stages so you can see at a glance how your knowledge is developing.

The five stages

Every note in your collection falls into exactly one stage, determined by how many times you've reviewed it and how the system has scheduled it.

New

Notes you haven't reviewed yet. They're waiting to enter your study schedule.

Learning

Notes seen recently that you're actively building into memory. They appear frequently for review.

Relearning

Notes you've been consistently finding difficult. The system brings them back more often to help you solidify them.

Young

Notes you're reviewing with growing confidence. Review intervals are between 1 and 3 weeks.

Mature

Notes you've internalized well, with review intervals beyond 3 weeks. These represent solid long-term memory.

New Learning Relearning Young Mature Hard

How notes move between stages

Each time you review a note, the system adjusts how far into the future it schedules the next review. This gap is called the interval.

  • Answering Easy means the note will come back less often.
  • Answering Hard brings the note back sooner for more practice.

A note's stage reflects where it sits in this progression. The longer its current interval, the more established it is in your memory.

Tips

  • A note typically reaches Young after 2-3 Easy reviews (about 1 week).
  • It becomes Mature after around 4 reviews (about 1 month best case).
  • A high Relearning count means those notes need more practice. Try simplifying them or adding more detail.
  • The goal is to grow your Mature count. That's knowledge you've truly made your own.
