Connections

A visual map of all your notes and the [[links]] between them. Each dot represents a note; lines show connections. The more links a note has, the larger its dot appears.

Opening the view

  • Side panel - click the graph icon in the AI Companion panel header to switch from chat to the Connections tab.
  • Full-page - navigate to Connections from the app sidebar for a larger view.

When opened from the side panel after an AI chat interaction, the graph auto-focuses on that note and its direct connections. Changing any filter clears this focus.

Navigating the graph

  • Zoom - scroll wheel.
  • Pan - click and drag on an empty area.
  • Drag a note - move it to a new position; the map settles when you let go.
  • Labels - fade in as you zoom in. The note you're hovering over is always labelled.

Node types

Hovering a node highlights it and dims everything not connected to it.

Note (hovered) Note Ghost node (pending link)
  • Orange - the note you're currently hovering over.
  • Grey - a regular note.
  • Light grey (dashed) - a ghost note: it has been linked to but not yet created.

Clicking a node

  • Regular note - opens it so you can read, edit, or review it.
  • Ghost note - opens a new note with the title already filled in. Once saved, all links pointing to that title update automatically.

Filtering the graph

Click the settings icon in the top right to filter what's shown:

  • Search - by note title. Notes connected to your matches stay visible too.
  • Topic / Deck - shows only notes from the selected Topic or Deck.
  • Show unlinked notes - turn this off to hide notes with no connections and reduce clutter.
  • Refresh - resets all note positions and redraws the map.

Tips

  • Ghost notes show gaps in your knowledge. Click one to write the missing note.
  • Use the Topic or Deck filter before a review session to focus on what you're studying.
  • The map updates live. Notes you create or edit elsewhere appear without needing to refresh.
